Rules - Music Quench place to talk

Here at Music Quench we try to create the ideal forum sandbox. Play nice and follow the rules:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. In fact, we encourage yours. You don’t have to agree with anyone. But, if you disagree, explain why. Debates are encouraged. Verbally attacking or defaming someone isn’t. So, don’t put turds in the sandbox. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Our decision is final in these matters.
Flying off the handle (flaming) and being angry and mean-spirited are not cool. Don’t do it.

Trolling is worse than flaming since the former is designed to elicit the latter. If you need to troll, go fishing.

Keep new threads and responses to them relevant. Offer a contribution, opinion or insight.

Don’t plagiarize. We want to know what you are thinking and how you feel about a topic. Don’t bring used sand into the sandbox. Music Quench does not tolerate plagiarism of material including but not limited to album reviews, blog entries and Wikipedia articles. If you wish to use this material on MQ, it must be referenced.
You will be permanently kicked out of the sandbox if you are racist, discriminatory or intolerant of others.

We welcome self-expression without expletives, profanity, vulgarity or obscenity. These can get you thrown out of the sandbox.

All of us here at Music Quench are providing this site to you free. Treat us nice.

Don’t create multiple accounts or personalities. When we find these all such accounts will be banned. Each member is allowed one login account.

Pornography or anything even resembling it as well as depictions of violence and anything even remotely questionable is forbidden. Music Quench is open to all ages. Providing pornographic material for minors is against federal, state, and local laws. If convicted you could have to register as a sex offender for the rest of your life.

Music Quench Forums are intended to promote the indie music scene. It’s not for spamming. Things we’ll delete post for and ban users for include but are not limited to posting the same content over and over, posting short replies to boost post count, making new threads with useless content, or anything relating to these matters.

This forum allows linking if done with discretion. We reserve the right to be the judge of this. Log in and join the forum.  If you are a member you may post your forum/blog/website link in the place provided, in your personal profile. For other links that may be of interest to others feel free to post them, do not spam or abuse this. We want to provide a rich resource of information if it is abused for pure advertizing it will be deleted and you may be blocked from the forum. Please use a signature on your profile.

Pictures are allowed in signatures, but should be limited in size to 300 X 600. No more than one pic is allowed in a signature. Text in your signature should be limited to no more than 4 lines.

Make sure your posts are made to the correct forums. Otherwise, you waste moderator’s time. Please make every effort to get it in the right place the first time.

You are not limited to 140 characters or bird sounds. Please talk to people as if you were actually talking to them in person.

Do not abuse the Report option.  If you are positive that somebody has broken a rule, then that is the time to use it. If you're arguing with somebody, and are mad at them and report them, you just might receive an infraction.

If you are using a proxy service it's obvious that you have something to hide. When we find this we will disable your account.

Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

You may only post material and content that you own. Posting copyrighted material, trademarks, and other violations of the DMCA is prohibited. Anyone posting an article must credit the author and provide a link to the original data.
